With the Professional and Enterprise edition, it is possible to import a TMX file created by another translation memory such as Trados, Déjà Vu or SDLX as well as by Crystal Translator itself. This function strips any formatting from segments in the TMX file and imports bilingual plain text into the opened TM. You can then benefit from these segments when pre-translating reports, as soon as the report source text matches the source text imported.
To use this function, you first need to open the TM you want to import into. Please ensure that the source language of the TMX file matches the source language of the TM before the import. This function will create the target languages in the TM if they do not already exist.
The Trial edition also allows you to evaluate this function, however, please remember than the Trial edition is limited to one target language. If more than one target language exists in the TMX file, the import will be aborted. The Trial edition does not allow the import of TMX files created by Crystal Translator Professional.
Please notice than importing TMX files with source texts that have very little probability to match the source texts of your reports will slow down the pre-translation. Therefore, we recommend that you only import relevant translations.
