Resources for translators

For the translator to perform the translation in the best condition, he/she should be provided with:

• The source report to translate
   
• The list of languages into which the report should be translated
   
• Any previously translated reports if available
   
• Necessary sample data-sources such as databases, the report needs to be connected to in order to be previewed. If this cannot be provided, it is also perfectly suitable to send a source report which includes data saved in the report. Please note that a design view will always be available to give an overview of the report even if no data sources are provided or no data is saved in the report.
  
  
  
• Necessary passwords to connect to the data-sources if any. This is not necessary if the data is saved in the report.
   
• Necessary parameters to preview the report. Several set of parameters can be sent to the translator if the report can generate different sort of preview. This is not necessary if the data is saved in the report. However, if data is saved in the report and different kinds of preview can be generated, several versions of the source report saved with various data samples should be sent to the translator.

If data is saved in the report, the translator does not need to connect to data-sources and select parameters to generate a preview, this simplify the task to the translator.
