Batch Workload Analysis (Professional and Enterprise edition only)

It is possible to obtain a workload in term of words count and fields count that may need translating for several source reports at once. This function can also analyse the workload of target languages by counting what could be automatically pre-translated using the translations stored in the database.

To generate a workload analysis report:

  1. Go to the menu Files\Batch Processing\Workload analysis… or press Ctrl+Alt+W

  2. The parameters dialog box will appear:

In the Step 1 page, you should select the source reports you want to analyse.
You can either select individual reports one by one or a whole folder with its subfolders.

  3. If you want to select individual reports, then tick the option "individual files" and press "Add..." to select the source reports you want to analyse:

Use the Ctrl or Shift key to select several reports, and press "Open"

  4. The selected reports will now appear in the step 1 page:

To remove a report, select it in the list and press "Remove". You can also use the Ctrl or Shift key to select several reports to be removed.

  5. If you want to analyse a whole folder of reports, then tick the option "whole folder" and then click on
    to browse a folder:

Select the folder to analyse and press "OK"

  6. The selected folder will now appear in the step 1 page:

If you wish to analyse the reports in the sub-folders as well, tick the "include sub-folders" option.

  7. Press "Next" to display the step 2 page:

If you only want a words-count of the source reports then do not select any languages. However, if you already have some translations stored in your TM, you can evaluate how much can be re-used and how much texts is new, in such case, select the languages you want to evaluate the workload for using the ctrl or shift keys.

  8. Press "Next" to start the analysis. It may take a few minutes to process all the reports. A progress window indicates the progress of the analysis. If you want to cancel the analysis, just press the "Cancel" button and the analysis will stop after completing the current report.

  9. When completed, you will obtain a new window similar to the following:

The first section gives the total workload for all the reports analysed. The following sections give the detailed workload for each report.

As with any other report, you can print or export this workload analysis, see the section "preview options".
